Departments    Account Department

Corporation is formed as per the provisions of B.P.M.C. Act 1949 and accounts department is established to keep and maintain proper books of accounts of Municipal Corporation. Accounts section is established at head quarter of Municipal Corporation, Chief accounts officer is head of accounts department of JCMC. Accounts officers, accountants, cashiers, clerks are appointed for head office/ ward office working under the control of chief accounts officers. Account department has various functions as per B.P.M.C. Act 1949 The accounts of municipal corporation are maintain for financial year i.e. 1st APR TO 31st MARCH The books of account are maintained as per various forms prescribed as per the BPMC Act Provisions.

Functions & Duties

  • To receive all moneys payable to the Corporation and credit the same in the bank Account of the Corporation.
  • To make payment on account of Municipal Fund.
  • To estimate Income & Exp. statement for the next financial year before 31st of March
  • To make payment of Salary and pension of the employees.
  • To control the budget sanctioned by the Corporation.
  • To make scrutiny of every financial proposal on behalf of Hon.Commissioner.
  • To keep the record related to municipal fund as prescribed by standing committee as per section 93 of BPMC act 1949.
  • To prepare the annual administration report and statement of accounts as per section 94 of BPMC act 1949.
  • To Investment of surplus money as per section 92 of BPMC Act 1949.
